Nangolo, Ndaendapo to face off

Flaim ‘Special One’ Nangolo has vowed to exploit the fear he saw in his opponent Abraham ‘Energy’ Ndaendapo’s eyes during their scheduled junior lightweight national title fight in December.

The African Connection (AC) Boxing and Fitness Gym’s Rising Stars event has been postponed to 17 December due to the fact that some of their boxers will be in action on the original date.

Promoter Immanuel Moses earlier this month announced that the event was scheduled for 10 December in Windhoek.

The event will still take place at the NamPower Convention Centre with 10 bouts.

“I can, however, confirm that the event has been moved to 17 December because our fighters will be in action on that weekend [10 December].

“Guys like Sakaria Lukas, Vikapita Meroro and Julius Indongo will be in action and we do not want to mix those two events,” he said.

The main fight of the night will see Flaim ‘Special One’ Nangolo battling it out against veteran Abraham Ndaendapo.

The two boxers, who met for a face off on Friday, have promised to produce fireworks on the night.

Nangolo and Ndaendapo did not meet at the first press conference but got a chance to size each other up at Paragon head office on Friday.

David vs Goliath

At the start of his career, Nangolo is set to face a man who has seen it all during an illustrious boxing career.

“I know he has the experience and he is a good boxer but I will show him what I am capable of that night.

“I can see something in his eyes and that is what I will exploit on 17 December.

“This is a big fight for me and I will be doing it for the fans who are ready to watch some entertaining action,” the young fighter said.

Nangolo boasts a record of five wins in five professional fights, with one coming by knockout.

He, however, comes up against an experience Ndaendapo with 17 wins and seven losses in 24 fights.

‘I’ll take him to school’

“He is a young boy who has so much to learn, which is an excellent opportunity for me to revive my career,” Ndaendapo said.

“I will take him to school on that night and show him real energy in the fight.

“This one will be a special one of the festive season and I will make sure he gets the punishment he deserves,” the veteran said.

Other fights on the night include Robert ‘The One’ Ndalelwa who will duke it out against Andreas Endjala in the lightweight division.

Ruaan Raspel will go head to head with Nicanor Halweendo, while Usko Rehabeam will face John Rwishi. Finally, Hafeni Ngesheya will trade leather with Lazarus Daniel.

In the welterweight division, Harry Simon Junior will fight Last Mogare from Zimbabwe, while Alfeus ‘Mosquito’ Shaanika will go up against Dominikus Weyulu.
