Namdia donates N$2 million to Covid fight

Tunohole Mungoba
Namibia and the rest of the world continues to be affected by the outbreak of Covid-19. To relieve the government and the nation from this burden, the Namdia Foundation donated N$2 million to various organisations and projects in the fight against Covid-19.

The donation will be put towards their Feed A Family project, which they have been running since Covid-19 reached Namibia. The project is aimed at assisting vulnerable communities in Walvis Bay by providing them with food parcel donations. These donations will go a long way in relieving families who are struggling to put food on their table during these challenging times.

Several other projects and initiatives have benefitted from the N$2 million Covid-19 donation. N$1 million went to the government’s National Disaster Fund, N$200 000 to the SOE CEO’s Forum, N$150 000 to the City of Windhoek, 500 bottles of hand sanitiser to the Robert Mugabe Clinic, food parcels (23 000 kg) worth N$300 000 distributed to vulnerable communities around Windhoek, N$50 000.00 to Walvis Bay Round Table 36 to assist with the Twaloloka Recovery Initiative in Walvis Bay, And N$50 000 to the MTC Knockout Project against Homelessness.

The diamond industry plays an important role in the socio-economic development of our economy. Namdia values the solidarity and resilience of the Namibian nation and together we all shall overcome the Covid-19 pandemic and reverse the detrimental impact it has on our society.
