Zimbabwean boxer Tinashe Mwadziwana has warned his opponent, Matheus ‘The Beast’ Heita, of a tough night when the two square off at the Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay on Saturday.
The Pan-African super bantamweight title fight pits the Beast against the Zimbabwean national, who has 30 professional fights to his name.
Mwadziwana, who is no stranger to Namibia after having been here a couple of times, is eager to return home with the title.
“I came here ready and prepared for the fight because I have been working hard.
“The Namibian boxer must really be prepared for a rough night because I want to win this one.
“I just want to invite all boxing fans to come through and watch the fight on Saturday,” Mwadziwana said.
Heita has only six fights to his name, compared to the more experienced Zimbabwean.
The Namibian boxer will be comforted by the fact that he is yet to lose a bout since turning professional.
A local boy from the coast, the 23-year-old is also expected to have a large crowd behind him as he faces his first main bout spectacle.
The Beast already claims to have his beast mode activated and ready to be unleashed in Walvis Bay.
“I do not have much to say but to thank the sponsor MTC for making this possible as I get ready to claim what belongs to me.
“I would like to invite my fans to come in big numbers because I know this fight is going to open doors for me and that is why I know I will claim the victory,” Heita said.
Heita is described as the next big thing by his promoter, Nestor Tobias, given his bravery and boxing skills.
Tobias, who was excited about the fact that the 23-year-old will be headlining the event, said he expects fireworks from all the boxers.
The bonanza will see 10 other fights on the night which include three national title fights.
Adreas Mwenyo will fight Lazarus Namalambo for the bantamweight national title, while Martin Mukungu goes fist to fist with Immanuel Jason in a featherweight title bout.
Joseph Abel and Phillipus Shaanika will trade leather in a super bantamweight, while Max Ipinge challenges Tinashe Zihove in an international super middleweight bout over six rounds.
The main supporting fight of the night will be between Natanael Sebastianus and Botswana’s Steven ‘Cakie’ Bagwasi.
“I would like to thank MTC because staging this fight requires so much input and funding.
“It is not easy but we have managed to bring boxers from outside to be part of this bonanza.
“Heita is an exceptional talent and a secret weapon because of what he is capable of.
“All the other fights on the cards will also be of top quality given the guys who will be fighting,” Nestor Tobias said.
Fikameni Matias of MTC also urged all those in Walvis Bay to attend the fight.
Tickets will be sold at Computicket and around the streets of Walvis Bay. Children pay N$20, while an adult ticket costs N$50.
Those interested in sitting at a VIP table will be required to buy a ticket for N$200.
