Mushe brings the heat
Mushe opens up about his new album and the business that has been keeping him busy.
Over and over again we tend to find certain individuals who push and reach levels of mastery.
It is as if there can never really be a limit of potential, if you think about it, and it's this thought that might give you a clearer picture of how far Mushe has come and continues to excel.
His name might be very familiar to many now, because of how openly he is marketing his forthcoming album I'm #CotaMushe, but Mushe has been a qualitative player on the music scene for a long time.
With this in mind, tjil had to get some words from the musician and businessman himself.
He is set to release his new album on Thursday, 28 November.
He says it took him a year to conceptualise, write and record the project.
“It is a very good album, I must say. It is an album filled with positive encouragements, quality beats and the overall vocal fusion of genres,” said Mushe.
Even though the main theme of the album is encouragement, Mushe maintains that he did not neglect those that use music for celebratory purposes.
He assured tjil that I'm #CotaMushe caters for all kinds of music fans, and he cannot wait for the music community to consume his latest offering.
“The message in the songs is very strong and encouraging, however, I can confidently tell you now to get your dancing shoes ready, because you will need them as well.
“After all, it is a festive season album, so happy songs are mandatory,” he said.
Mushe mentioned that for this album he recruited M-Record Studio, Base Lata, DJ Chronic, Endrew, Kallo On The Beat and VDKei Crazy Boy for production.
This body of work features Exit, Neslow, Teqla, VDKei, Tulisan, Katyoko and Top Cheri.
Having achieved what many artists can only dream of in the growing Namibian music industry, the award-winning musician maintains that with this album it is time to take his music global.
“It is time to go abroad,” he said confidently.
Diinina, the lead single from the album, keeps gaining momentum both on radio and in the streets.
It serves as a snippet of what his fans can expect come 28 November.
Like the business virtuoso he is, one impressive marketing ploy he has implemented is to make pre-orders of the album accessible to anyone.
Unlike many artists who make use of digital platforms as the only means for their fans to pre-order albums, Mushe's method of payment for his pre-orders entails cash, eWallet, EasyWallet and BlueWallet.

Besides music, Mushe has been growing his business empire.
He acknowledges that music alone isn't profitable enough, especially in a small industry like Namibia's. It is for this reason that he has his fingers in numerous business ventures.
“Omunangeshefa Poultry has been keeping me busy. I sell eggs and chicks,” he shared.
