MTC Salute pumped for international glory
MTC Salute Boxing Academy wishes to host at least three to four international fights this year, while unleashing some of its hidden talents locally.

MTC Salute Boxing Academy Kiriata Kamanya has vowed to commit his body and soul to producing international champions.
The academy is yet to announce its opening bonanza for the year but Kamanya expects the announcement to be made soon.
“We have already begun with our plans to host our first fights but we will announce that in due time.
“I am extremely excited about the prospects that we have and the those that are to fight for big titles.
“Our aim at the moment is to host at least three to four big international fights.
“I am however speaking under correction because we still need to have confirmation from our main sponsor, MTC,” Kamanya said.
Development
MTC Salute Boxing Academy also plans to scout for new talent around Windhoek and other areas.
Kamanya remains confident in the crop of youngsters he has in his stable.
“We are already busy with the production of many youngsters and we will continue doing that this year too.
“We have a number of youngsters who we know can become African and continental champions anytime soon.
“We are eager to make sure that we also find and develop some of those guys that are yet to gain exposure but who are talented.”
In December 2018, MTC adopted the Salute Boxing Academy as a beneficiary to receive financial support.
The boxing stable receives around N$1.6 million a year from the mobile communications provider.
“We will always remain grateful towards MTC for having been with us because they made so many things for us possible.
“We can only repay them by making sure that the brand of MTC is given mileage globally.
“We also want to thank all Namibian businesses and individuals for their support.”
The academy hopes some of its senior boxers, including the likes of Lukas Ndafoluma and Nathaniel Kakololo who lost their titles last year, will be able to reclaim their international standing.
“Our senior guys are also working hard and will definitely be back to claim their glory this year.”
