MTC 081Every1 Hope Concert postponed

Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) on Friday announced the postponement of its 081Every1 Hope Concert from 3 July to 4 September 2021.
The concert, launched in May, was scheduled to take place at the Safari Hotel in the capital, with the aim to offer psychological relief to Namibians in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a media statement, MTC executive Tim Ekandjo said Namibia had in recent weeks recorded a record number of newly confirmed Covid-19 infections and deaths, adding that in light of this, it was necessary for the concert to be moved for better days ahead.
“The postponement is necessitated by various factors that are Covid-19 related and logistics. But we would like to assure the nation that the concert will indeed take place as it is meant to give the country hope during these difficult times,” Ekandjo said.
“With this concept, we are saying that we must never lose hope. As a nation, the challenges that we are faced with too shall come to pass. But for now, let us keep safe and fight this enemy,” he said.
The music personalities that will form part of the line-up include gospel musical ambassadors Vuuyo, Pride, Franklin and Dee’A, Rodney Seibeb, Maranatha, Joharetha, Elizabeth, Manda Gabriel, Effy-Otjimbundu, Ayanda Ntanzi, Benjamin Dube, Buci Radebe and the Nam Gospel United.
