Matjila, Fillemon crowned gaming kings
The Namibian Electronic Sports Association hosted the final round of its eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer and Tekken national tournament.

Namibian gamers Rashaad Matjila and Matias Fillemon have been selected as the country's e-sports national team players after winning a tournament last weekend.
Matjila was victorious in the eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer category, while Fillemon secured first place in Tekken, dethroning three-year champion Freddy Mazila.
The gamers will represent Namibia in upcoming international competitions and will also represent the country against neighbouring South Africa in the online regional competitions of the International E-Sports Federation's World Championship.
The winners of the regional competitions will go through to the finals, which will be held in Eilat, Israel, in December.
“Both athletes performed exceptionally and showed that dedication and perseverance is key to reaching their goals. The Namibian Electronic Sports Association (Nesa) is proud to have them on the team,” vice-president Salomé de Bruyn said. The event was hosted at APS Guesthouse in Windhoek. “The annual national tournaments for e-sports in Namibia are gaining more support from gamers, sponsors and the community as e-sports is gaining momentum worldwide,” De Bruyn added.

Nesa lauded its sponsors and partners Logitech G, Vander Designs and Future CC for sponsoring the event. The association also heaped praise on APS Guesthouse for making the venue available for the tournament, as well as on all the volunteers who assisted in the administration and running of the event.
