Magogoz back with a bang
The duo explores unfinished business on their new album.
The music industry is harsh and unforgiving. One day you can be living in the security of what seems like a stable situation, and the next be in a state of gloom that leaves you questioning the very structure that raised you up.
No one knows this better than Magogoz.
With only two members left in the group, Shoza and Makuva, Magogoz released their latest album titled Unfinished Business on 31 October.
The duo shared they plan on piercing the Namibian music industry with their new style of music and they are also targeting Africa as a whole with their new album.
“The quality of the music on this album is of a high standard, because we have worked with the best in the industry and it should be shared with Africans,” said Makuva.
Unfinished Business features JBlack, Cursive, Kharishma, Beix One, John Shibaza and Franklin.
Makuva describes their sound as Afropop and kwaito. The duo admitted that competition is currently tough within the music space, but they maintain they have been working on new sounds, and hope the music community will enjoy their new offering.
“It is for this reason that we worked with different, talented producers including Andrew On The Beat, Elvo, Ally the Mini King, and the talented Chubby Beats, who is one of our ex-member,” said Shoza.
The album is available at Antonio’s Art and will soon be made available countrywide at various music shops. In the meantime, the duo are busy working on visuals to complement singles from their album.
“Expect Iinima Ishona before Christmas and there are still four more music videos from the album that will be shared,” said Mukava.
