Lockdown causes production hangover
Beverage production at Namibia Breweries, Namibia Beverages and ABInBev Namibia tumbled in April when the lockdown banned alcohol.
A sectoral report released by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) today shows Namibia produced 103 963 hectolitres of beverages in April – 197 863 hectolitres less than in March.
Beverage production is an important component of the manufacturing sector in the country.
NSA’s economic growth figures also released today showed manufacturing grew by -8.3% in the first three months of 2020.
