Lights of Hope for Women
Top women football teams will grace the Embadu Stadium at Uukwangula with their presence between 30 April and 4 May in an attempt to resolve social challenges faced by women in society.

The Lights of Hope for Women Charity Cup is set to take place in northern Namibia in April this year.
The tournament, to be hosted by Oshana NFA Women Football, is expected to attract some of the finest football teams in the country.
Organisers expect 18 teams to battle it out for top honours and for a good cause.
Jackson Felisberto da Silva, the spokesperson for Oshana Women’s Football, hopes the tournament will raise enough money to help women.
“This tournament is simply there to raise awareness and funds for many women and young girls that suffer because of gender-based violence or even a lack of sanitary pads.
“We have so many young girls that are going through the worst, and this tournament will only help us in efforts to create a better society for young girls and women.
“The theme of the tournament is ‘I am not Free’, while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own,” Da Silva said.
The registration fee for both codes is N$1 000, with teams set to battle it out for a winning prize of N$10 000.
The winners will also take home a floating trophy and 22 gold medals for their heroics.
The runners-up will pocket N$8 000 and 22 silver medals, while the two semi-final losers will each have to settle for N$4 000 in cash.
The entrance fee at the gate will be N$10 for men and N$5 for women, while vehicles cost N$10.
“Anyone can also donate sanitary pads, non-perishable food items as well as blankets and winter clothes to be provided to those in need,” Da Silva added.
Teams such as Khomas Nampol FC, Okahandja FC, Okakarara Golden Ladies, Okahao FC, Rightway FC and many other teams have confirmed their participation.
