Kabunya is one of the festive albums making waves on radio, online and in the streets.

Packed with 14 songs, DJ Siya’s fourth album Kabunya boasts features from industry heavyweights including Tate Buti, Gazza, Sunny Boy, Adora, DJ Vuyo, Etjo, Patrick and more.
Mr Glo Solani Zulu of Glo Production worked on the majority of the album, having produced eight songs in total. Other producers credited on Kabunya includes DJ Shoza, DJ Vuyo, Ycoast and DJ Navie Dube from Swaziland.
The album opens with Ndiyala, a Ycoast assisted track that sets the tone for the album. Recorded in four countries - Namibia, Swaziland, Botswana and Zambia - this album takes you on a sonic tour around southern Africa.
Notable tracks
As part of the rollout plan, DJ Siya supplemented track seven on the album, Kushebeka featuring DJ Vuyo, with a music video about a week ago.
Before going to print, the video had garnered over 7 000 views on YouTube in four days, an indication that music fans are embracing this festive offering.
Having listened to Kabunya a few times, other single-worthy tracks include Veringo, Lusese, Inokala, Mulumere and Tubawi.
What also makes this album a pleasant listen is the fact that even though it is generally a dance album, it makes room for other genres as well.
If you’re into gospel, the Zamaya remix featuring Mercy Matale is your jam.
Besides the actual music, effort was also put into the design of the album cover – it just screams African; however, the foot in the wording isn’t all that pleasant to look at.
