Helalia Johannes won the 10km Spar Women's Challenge yesterday in a time of 33 minutes and 16 seconds, and walked away with a whooping R185 000.

The Namibian won all six races in the Spar series this year.

She was followed home by Gerda Steyn in a time of 34 minutes and 38 seconds. In third was Irvette van Zyl (34 minutes and 40 seconds).

Johannes recently won bronze in Doha at the IAAF world champs.

According to her coach Robert Kaxuxwena, the athlete will rest a little bit and continue with training as usual, as the focus now is on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which will take place between 24 July and 9 August next year.
