After taking some time off as a group to focus on solo projects, Magogoz - comprising of Makuva, Shoza, Bobby W.V.D.K and Chubby Beats - released a new song titled ‘Halo Baby’ today.

In an interview with tjil, Chubby Beats shared that it’s simply time for the group to get back together following an outcry from their fans. He added that their reunion was also fuelled by the desire from all the group members to contribute an authentic Namibian kwaito sound to the music scene, which they believe is lacking at the moment.

“There is so much music we have recorded over the years that was never released and we simply felt this is the right time,” Chubby Beats said.

Describing their latest offering, he mentioned that ‘Halo Baby’ was recorded earlier this year, labelling it as an urban sound. The song will be available for download on ViralCom and for streaming on Donlu Africa, iTunes and Spotify.

New album soon

“The music video is super funky and exciting. It is fun to watch and we believe that complementing the song with these visuals will propel it to be a big hit for the year.”

With two albums to their name, the group announced that they will be releasing their third album, titled ‘The Originals’ in September.

“We have major collaborations on it and renowned producers putting the beautiful piece of art together,” Chubby Beats said. These producers include Chris Wayne, Kamtonyo from PDK, Mr Glo and Araffat.
