I worked hard for it – Nangolo
Friday night saw Flaime ‘Special One’ Nangolo being crowned the national champion in the lightweight division after defeating his opponent Abraham ‘Energy’ Ndaendapo during AC Boxing and Fitness Gym’s Night of Prospects bonanza event at the NamPower Convention Centre in Windhoek.

Nineteen-year-old high school learner Flaime ‘Special One’ Nangolo made easy work of his much more experienced opponent Abraham ‘Energy’ Ndaendapo to claim the national title in the lightweight division, showing that hard work pays off.
Nangolo said he worked hard to be where he is today, attributing the achievement to the efforts of his trainer and promoter, Martin Angombe and Immanuel ‘AC’ Moses, for pushing him to climb the boxing ladder.
After the weekend’s bout, the young Nangolo remains undefeated in eight fights.
“Flaime is the future world champion. He is still in grade 12; he is busy writing exams, and even wrote exams before the weigh in before the fight.
“This is just a message to young people out there to keep chasing their dreams. Dedicate your time to whichever sport you are doing, and also to your studies as sports alone cannot sustain your life. Education is the key,” Moses said.
He added that AC Promotions is there to ensure that they play a big role in young local boxers’ lives.
Winning streak
Other fights on the night saw Ruaan Raspel and Shikukutu Jona trading leather in the lightweight division. Raspel beat his opponent on points.
In the welterweight category, Alfeus ‘Mosquito’ Shaanika defeated Hedison Nghipondoka on points. Another welterweight boxer, Harry Simon Jr continued with his impressive winning streak after beating Steven Shimonde also on points.
In the lightweight category bout between Hafeni Ngesheya and Simeon Varde Ndayambekwa, Ngesheya won the fight on a technical knockout.
