Nolan Hoffman, a previous winner of the Cape Town Cycle Tour and the Nedbank Cycle Classic, triumphed in the Tour de Windhoek over the weekend.

Hoffman finished in sixth place last year, behind teammate Steven van Heerden, who settled for third place this time around.

Hoffman and Van Heerden's BCX team won the team event, while Drikus Coetzee (Hollard) finished as the best Namibian rider, in overall fifth place.

The best young rider prize went to Namibia's top junior Alex Miller, while Anneke Steenkamp won the women's tour.

R&R Importers finished in first place among the five women's teams competing this year.

Saturday's results:

Thulasizwe Mxenge from South Africa, who is a guest rider for the NCCS Pupkewitz Megabuild cycling team, finished first during stage three of the 2018 edition of the Tour de Windhoek.

The South African beat his countryman, Steven van Heerden who rides for team ProTouch, as well as BCX riders Hoffman and Reynard Butler of ProTouch and his teammate Ryan Harris, who were involved in a photo finish.

Mxenge clocked a preliminary time of two hours, 29 minutes and 55 seconds (2:29:55), with Van Heerden just seconds behind him in 2:29:56. Butler and Harris from ProTouch, as well as Hoffman, all finished in a time of 2:29:58.

Namibian riders Alex Miller and Drikus Coetzee finished sixth and seventh, respectively.

Miller rode for MBM, while Coetzee was in the Hollard team. They had a joint time of 2:30:00.

In the Tour de Light, RR Importer riders dominated the race, after the team Jaguar riders were disqualified.

Anneke Steenkamp and Hester Prins won the race. The two riders clocked 2:30:17, followed by teammates Adele de la Rey (2:30:18) and Maike Bochert, who finished behind them in a time of 2:30:22.

Friday's results:

Team BCX finished first during the team time trial (TTT). BCX beat another South African team, ProTouch, who came in just 38 seconds behind the winners. BCX finished the event in a time of 25 minutes 13 seconds (25:13), while ProTouch finished in a time of 25:51.

However, in the overall team standings, Luso AC DC, also from South Africa, were ranked third, despite them finishing fourth in the TTT in a time of 27:19.

Their overall results from the two events, which was the road race in the morning and the TTT in the afternoon, put them third on the overall standings, behind BCX and ProTouch, respectively.

In the overall standings, Hollard were ranked fourth at that stage. In the Tour de Light, team Jaguar won the TTT in a time of 33:12, while the Pupkewitz Ladies finished second in a time of 33:42.
