Musicians from the Erongo Region are making their mark on the industry with captivating music released last month.
Yessonia, ESB, Bella, Samcee, Yung Kavin and DJ Zuma keep adding value to the industry, and Erongo24/7 reviews their latest offerings.

Runaway Child - Yessonia
Yessonia has become a household name of late. The musician, real name Sonia Shalukeni, has been trending on the official Base FM Top 10, and her latest single Runaway Child recently reached number one.
On the reggae track, Yessonia proves that she is just not a pretty face, but has good vocals too.
The most impressive element of the song is the concept, which is relayed through the message in the lyrics.
On the track, she tackles social issues like rejection, gender-based violence, stigma and poverty.
“Runaway Child features three relatable stories. Every child has a story,” the singer, who hails from Swakopmund, said on her Instagram account.

Timeless - ESB
There is no doubt that Walvis Bay-based Eduardo Riobo, better known as ESB, is renowned for his top-notch production. No wonder artists like Monique English and Lioness, who are making waves in the industry, keep choosing to work with him. His latest track, Timeless, features Space and Gemini.
It is an easy song to listen to from the intro, to the chorus and even the verses, and is exactly what a hip-hop collaboration should be.

Alles in My Lewe – Bella Lusse
Henties Bay songbird Bella Lusse well versed in various genres like Afrikaans, country and pop, and is currently taking part in an online competition by South African station, Kokomo Radio.
Her latest track Alles in My Lewe, which means “everything in my life” in Afrikaans, is leading among two other Afrikaans songs in the poll. Lusse is the only Namibian in the competition.
The singer shows that she’s no rookie as she expresses the love she has for her man by using beautiful figurative language.

We Need Your Mercy - Samcee
Swakopmund-based Samson Chivi, better known as Samcee, recently released his latest gospel single titled We Need Your Mercy.
The song carries a positive message and sees Samcee crying out for divine intervention on behalf of everyone faced with challenges.
The Afro-pop singer, who originally hails from Zimbabwe, does the beat justice with his dynamic voice. There is definitely a bright future for this worshipper who has a passion for spreading the gospel with his musical talent.

Never Give Up – Yung Kavin
Yung Kavin, real name Paulus Kavindji, recently landed his biggest international collaboration.
Featuring French musician Zonko, Never Give Up carries a positive message, encouraging listeners to keep their heads up and focus on their futures, no matter what difficulties they face.
Both artists possess vibrant bass voices that add personality to the track as Yung Kavin sings in English while Zonko add his French lyrics to enrich the song.

Ti Xuna – DJ Zuma
Amapiano has infiltrated Namibia from South Africa and coastal musicians have also caught the wave. One such artist is DJ Zuma from Swakopmund, who recently released Ti Xuna.
Ti Xuna, a Damara/Nama phrase which means “my things”, sees DJ Zuma demanding his things back.
The beat is out of this world and so is the chorus. Even though it is a dance track, more could have been done in terms of lyrical content.
While DJ Zuma’s voice is worth listening to, more creativity could have turned this good song into a great song.
