Florito announces new EP coming soon
With a hands-on approach, Florito's musical deliveries truly make use of a fusion of sounds that give him his own identity. His latest single Pull Up features Gazza and LMPC, the music video is scheduled to be released on Tuesday.
tjil spoke to Florito, real name Florisberto Mbemba to find out a little bit more about how it all started out for him. His first mixtape released in 2014 was called the Other Side of Me and featured Gazza, Show Time, Slammer, Karishma and more. He has since gone to release singles and has done countless collaborations with other musicians. “I first used to go by the name Young Flo but I had to change because of the sound that I am working on now which is Afro-fusion. I believe this is the sound that is going to get me more recognition,” he said.
On how his collaboration with Gazza and LMPC came about, Florito shared that he has worked with both of them in the past before and the beat guided his instinct in selecting them for the song Pull Up. “I reached out to them and they were keen to jump on the song. I did one with LMPC years ago and this is my fourth collaboration with Gazza,” he shared.
Florito announced that he is currently in the final stages of completing his five tracks EP which is slated for release early next year. He mentioned that the EP will feature Cabo Snoop, RuiOrlando, Carla Prata, 1Da Banton and Buju. “Those are the international features I can reveal for now, the rest is a surprise.
“RuiOrlando is an Angolan artist with over 10 million views on YouTube, Carla Prata is also an Angolan artist but based in Portugal and signed to Sony. The rest are Nigerian artists. I am really excited for this EP,” he said.
He explained that his next body of work will feature a lot of international acts because that is the arena he wishes to penetrate. His mission is to export his music globally and maintains that hard work and consistency will take him there. “
I want to be one of the biggest artists out of Africa, I believe I will do that with the sound I am doing.
“My song is playlisted on BBC1 Extra in the United Kingdom and in African countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Angola, Tanzania and Kenya,” said Florito.
