In the first year the programme covers topics such as self-knowledge, your personal vision and mission, goal setting, the importance of education, love, respect, commitment and communication are covered.

The second year is focused on how education is an integral part and social development. Tools for self-acceptance, eating the right food, the importance of reading, choosing role models, critical thinking and dealing with peer pressure are dealt with.

The third year includes making decisions about tertiary studies, skills development, career planning, leadership development and team work.

This programme aims to prepare young girls for success in life. “At Vision Core we believe in the power of girls. We cannot celebrate the girl child without providing examples and without investing in their future. We believe that positive role models are also important. We cannot just tell them that they can change their future without equipping them to take on the task of self-development,” Aletta Eises, the founder of Vision Core said.

Vision Core also strives to address the inequalities that young girls are faced with. “We are telling girls that they have the power to change the world and that they can be change-makers, but they are confronted with difficult circumstances in their families and communities. We need to give them the tools to stand out and step forward amidst these challenges,” Eises explains.

Mentorship is key if we want girls to achieve their personal and career goals. They must be supported in terms of career guidance, training, social challenges and resources.
