Conquering the Namib Quest

Xavier Papo and Clinton Hilfiker were the overall winners of the Windhoek Light Namib Quest after completing the six-stage, 450-kilometre mountain-bike race from Windhoek to Swakopmund in 20 hours, 18 minutes and 59 seconds.
Second place was awarded to Heinrich Kohne and Ananias Kamati (Cycledelic), while Raymond Odendaal and Bertus Odendaal (Four Brothers) took third place.
The solo men's winner was Vanni Balboni from Italy (21 hours, 07 minutes) and the solo women's winner was Nicola Fester (22 hours and 16 minutes).
The second- and third-place winners in the solo men's category were Sven Strohmenger and Christian Stadler. Second place in the solo women's category was awarded to Maroshell Odendaal.
Team Hollard, consisting of Louise Ferreia and Courtney Liebenberg, were the female team winners. Second place was awarded to Raceday Cycle Girls consisting of Jolynde Aucamp and Johanita de Waal, while third place went to Blue Bloods, consisting of Anri Parker and Wanda Tattersall.
Team Bold and the Beautiful, consisting of Johann Fourie and Irene Steyn, were the mixed team category winners, while second place was awarded to Cymot Scott Mixed, consisting of Axel Theissen and Sandra Lippet.
The NBL Soul Partners, George Thiele and Daleen Steyn, took third place.
About 40 participants started the race, with 38 reaching the finish line, riding their bikes via the Khomas Hochland and the Namib Desert.
