Coast well represented at Voice of Namibia finale

The coast will be represented by four talented vocalists at the finale of the Voice of Namibia singing competition, which is scheduled to take place at the Windhoek Country Club and Resort on Saturday, 9 October.
One of the finalists is last year’s Lin-Marie Coetzee (20), who expressed her excitement about reaching the finale again.
“I am very excited to be in the finale again because the last time, I was the runner-up. This year, the competition is tight and everyone is very talented.
“If I win, I will dedicate it to my brother because he encourages me a lot,” she said.
Her brother, Drikus Coetzee, is a cyclist, who has aspirations of qualifying at the Olympic Games.
A fun challenge
Another contestant is Andeline Wieland (26). Apart from being a jewellery designer, the multi-talented Wieland is Miss Supranational Namibia 2020 second runner-up, Miss Continents 2017, Miss Namibia 2016 first runner-up and was a contestant on season two of The Bachelor South Africa.
“Entering for the Voice of Namibia after having Covid-19 was very interesting as my breathing changed completely since being sick.
“However, I have found it to be a very fun challenge. There are so many incredibly talented singers of so many different genres and so many different voice types. Namibia is incredibly blessed with so much talent,” she said.
Although both Coetzee and Wieland currently reside in Windhoek, they are both originally from Swakopmund.
The other two contestants representing Erongo are John-Raymond ‘JR’ Cupido and Jessica Strydom from Walvis Bay and Swakopmund respectively.
The finale of the Voice of Namibia will comprise of 12 finalists. The competition, which started in 2018, was won by Heiko Doedens last year.
