Doctatainment’s Windhoek Spring Fiesta is back with a vengeance this year, expanding its presence and solidifying its reputation as the industry leader in events.
tjil sat down with co-founder John Cloete, who, along with Ernest van Zyl, is a visionary and has pioneered influence that has helped take events of this calibre in Namibia to the next level.
On how this year’s event is going to be different from previous ones, Cloete mentioned the fact that the event marks a decade in existence is something special and calls for a celebration.
“Covid-19 came and it's probably going be here for some time, but that should not make us forget what we've build and what our initial vision with this event is,” he said.
Known for its exclusive Namibian line-up, Cloete shared that people can look forward to seeing Namibia's most sought-after DJs on stage.
“But we have decided to give our loyal followers a surprise this year as part of celebrating 10 years of the Windhoek Spring Fiesta.”
Consistency
Cloete revealed that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and budget cuts, Doctatainment could not secure sponsors for this year, but they spoke to their long-term partners, who were willing to support the event in a small capacity, which the company appreciates a lot, he said.
To keep the crowd hyped and entertained throughout the event, Doctainment has entrusted Jane K and Cheeze with MC’ing duties.
“We always wanted to create a platform where we could showcase Namibian artists and DJs without international acts, and we've been consistent in doing this for the past 10 years. So, we urge all Namibians to support and own this event,” Cloete stressed.
Tickets are available at webtickets.com.na or any Pick N Pay outlet. The company is also running a competition where you can win merchandise by simply posting a photo of your ticket on social media. Tag Doctatainment to stand a chance to win.
