Bronkhorst wins Rotary Fun Run

Thirty runners participated in a fun run that formed part and parcel of Rotary Day on Saturday in Swakopmund.
Johan Bronkhorst won the 5km run in 26 minutes, ahead of Joshua Kleghorn who finished his race in 28 minutes. Johan van Niekerk finished third in 29 minutes.
The fun run started at the SFC sports ground and proceeded through Kramersdorf and back to the SFC.
Although there were no medals or cash prizes on offer, there were fun prizes handed out to the best-dressed individual and the funniest family group. The main objective of the race was to race funds for the Rotary Club of Swakopmund, which will be used for charity. There plenty of fun activities. These included the displaying of a Huey helicopter, dancing, a dog show, a fashion show, a market which various stalls and a Harley Davidson parade through the town. The Rotary Club an international organisation that is involved with charity in local communities.
