BREAKING: Ex NCCI chief takes reins at NAM
Jo-Maré Duddy - Tarah Shaanika, the former CEO of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI), has been appointed as an executive director and the chief executive officer of Namibian Asset Management.
Shaanika’s first day in office will be 4 January 2021, a statement on the Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX) said. Namibian Asset Management (NAM) is listed on the Local Index of the NSX.
Shaanika (50) has served as a non-executive director on the NAM board since 2015 and has a keen understanding of the group, the company said.
He serves on various boards of directors including New Era Publications Corporation, NAMZIM Newspapers (Pty) Ltd and Team Namibia.
Shaanika holds a Bachelor of Economics and Media Studies degree from the University of Namibia and a Masters in International Business (MIB) from the Polytechnic of Namibia.
NAM has a market capitalisation of N$124 million by total shares in issue. The company closed at 62c per share on Wednesday.
