Boost to Kia Sportage range
The Ignite and Ignite Plus models are now equipped with an 8-inch infotainment system.
As part of its continuous product development, and aligned to consumer feedback, Kia Motors South Africa has introduced an infotainment upgrade to its Sportage range.
In addition, customers who have purchased a pre-update model will have the option to retrofitting the system to their vehicles.
29 years after making its first appearance, the iconic Sportage remains the most successful model in KIA's history, and one of the core models in the local KIA line-up.
Originally revealed at the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show, Sportage introduced the concept of the 'Urban SUV' to consumers for the very first time, and over time set the blueprint for all compact, practical SUVs.
The model has grown and evolved with each generation, with the current, fourth-generation model, the undeniable leader of the pack.
“Kia is renowned for its quality, style and unsurpassed value. The Sportage has become an icon of what customers want in a true SUV: a vehicle that seamlessly fits into your lifestyle.
“With this latest update, the Sportage remains true to its reputation as a leader in the SUV field by offering the latest technology and capability as part of a highly competitive package in terms of value,” says Gary Scott, CEO, Kia Motors South Africa.
Infotainment
Specifically, the infotainment upgrade is applicable to the Ignite and Ignite Plus models in the range, and comprises an 8-inch colour touchscreen with integrated reverse camera, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
The addition of infotainment in these models aligns the full Sportage range with the rest of Kia's vehicle line-up, adding more convenience and more value to customers.
Customers who have purchased a Sportage Ignite or Ignite Plus prior to the introduction of the standard 8-inch infotainment system, also have the option of having the system retrofitted.
