As the worldwide coronavirus outbreak and its consequences continue to take the world by storm, celebrities have spoken about their own experiences, be it cautioning their fans about the pandemic, testing positive for the virus or seeking help when they detect symptoms.
The latter is the position of Namibian influencer and fashion blogger Disney Andreas, who took to Twitter yesterday to share that she suspects she has the virus.
“Guys, I completely understand that we don't have enough testing kits to test the masses. But what if you have identified symptoms, self-isolated for two weeks and the matter still persists?
“This virus affects your respiratory system. My system is exposed. My immune system has been compromised. I just want to make sure that I don’t have it,” she tweeted.
Worrying symptoms
Andreas shared she has been experiencing a fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, chills, body pains, headaches and dizziness.
Her Twitter thread continued: “Just to be clear here, NIP [Namibia Institute of Pathology] is the only institution testing at the moment, said Pathcare. I can only test if people from Robert Mugabe clinic give the green light. The same people who turned me away.
“My heart goes out to those who do not have medical aid or money to seek private care,” she continued.
The fashionista hasn’t tested positive yet but is desperate to get clarity on her symptoms.
Internationally, celebrities who have tested positive for the coronavirus include Idris Elba, his wife Sabrina Elba, Kevin Durant, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, and UK prime minister Boris Johnson.
