Mobile banking capability and functionality is a key factor in the selection of a new bank by potential customers.

Millennials account for about one quarter of the world’s population and 70% of them use mobile banking apps.
“It is estimated that in 2020 almost two billion people will make use of mobile banking,” says Desery van Wyk, manager: digital channels at FNB Namibia. “Mobile banking capability and functionality is already a key factor in the selection of a new bank by potential customers and banks have to constantly adopt and refine their mobile offerings, including continuous security upgrades, to survive. This is also the case in Namibia and FNB remains a forerunner in this regard,” according to Van Wyk.
Sharing a few hints and tips about the FNB Banking App that can make life easier while at the same time saving customers time and money, she says: “Did you know that the FNB Banking App can be unlocked by your fingerprint which means safety is guaranteed, as only you can do it?
“The Smart inContact reports transactions from as little as one cent on your banking app so you can keep track of all your transactions to ensure that all transactions have in fact been done by you.
“Other benefits of the banking app include the ability to bank faster whenever, wherever. Should you forget your wallet, you can use the app to do a cardless cash withdrawal.
“With the FNB app you can pay another app user with geo payments - a location-based, person-to-person payments function from one FNB app user to another. You can now also transfer your eWallet into your transactional account from the FNB app,” Van Wyk says.
Public recipients like municipalities, clothing stores, hardware suppliers and many more can be paid by searching and selecting their details. No more standing in queues to do account payments.
