A weekly dose of TK The Rapper

In the hope of reaching more people with his music, TK The Rapper is releasing a single from his latest EP, The Alarm, every week.
Chatting to tjil last week, the musician (real name Hendrick Kantewa) shared that he released the 12-track project last year on CD, and said he believes now is the time to make the music available on digital platforms.
“With this pandemic we are facing currently, everyone is plugged in on their devices and I feel like it’s time for those who couldn’t get a CD to finally hear what they’ve been missing out on,” he said.
To complement these releases, the rapper shared that he is planning to drop visuals for the hit Money Changed Them, which features Vikta Juiceboy and Kaboy Kamakili, soon.

N$60k profit
The rapper said the response to the EP has been good.
“The physical CDs sold for N$100 each and I sold more than 600 copies, that’s N$60 000 profit from a mixtape. Not bad for a hip-hop artist, right?” he bragged.
Dedicating time to push a different single every week demonstrates his hunger and drive to get this EP to the masses.
Asked what his goal is for this project, TK The Rapper said: “The goal has always been to reach a broader audience, because I feel like it’s one of the best hip-hop projects in the country as of 2019.”
The musician has previously been involved in a controversial debate, claiming he’s the best rapper in Namibia.

Something for everyone
“My mission with The Alarm is to change lives, inspire and motivate someone who might be going through the same thing or something similar as I am,” he said.
The rapper added there’s something for everyone on this body of work, as it has motivational songs, fun songs to dance to and tracks where he flexes his lyrical muscles.
Last week, he released Andigalikana and will drop Wishing Bad tomorrow.
All songs debut on his YouTube channel and later become available on Deezer.
