World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa supermiddleweight boxer Paulinus ‘John John’ Ndjolonimus is eager to prove a point against the man who almost ruined his career in April.
This after it was announced that Ndjolonimus and Anthony Jarmann will headline the MTC Nestor ‘Sunshine’ Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy Bonanza on 16 October at the Windhoek Country Club.
The fighter still has fresh memories of how he nearly lost against veteran Jarmann.
Ndjolonimus won the fight in the last round by technical knockout (TKO), but the results told a different story after he had been at the receiving end of a dangerous Jarmann.
“I am not going to allow him so much joy and space as I did last time because it almost cost me the fight.
“Right now, I am physically and mentally more prepared to show the fans what I am capable of.
“I am going to make sure that I do things much faster and more precise,” Ndjolonimus said.
‘I’m ready for him’
Tipped as one of the MTC Nestor ‘Sunshine’ Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy’s potential superstars, the boxer is eager to silence critics of his last fight.
Jarmann, however, feels he can again do what he did to his opponent last time around.
“I am fit and ready for him and I will even be much better and faster than I was last time.
“He caught me with a last-minute punch but that will be a different story this time around,” he said.
The bonanza will see four other title fights, including a national super bantamweight bout between Matheus Heita and Julius Sheefeni.
Charles Shinima and Mohammed Uta will face off in a WBO Africa welterweight fight, while Phillipus ‘Energy’ Nghitumbwa and Innocent Matengu will fight for a global welterweight title over 12 rounds.
Nakathila returns
Meanwhile, former WBO global lightweight champion Jeremiah Nakathila will also make his return to the ring since his last fight against Shakur Stevenson in the USA.
Nakathila will trade leather with Zimbabwe’s Tinashe Mwadziwana over eight rounds.
