A dose of the good ol’ blues
Gerald Clark, whom most will recognise as the redhead vocalist for the Stellenbosch-based band Delta Blue, has been a solid presence on the SA music scene since 1997.
Clark is an incredibly talented and passionate blues musician, recognised for his extraordinary ability to tell a story with his music. He is one of SA’s top singers and songwriters, famous for his voice that can get down to the soul and honesty that blues is known for. He took his music to international heights and toured London with Bok van Blerk, and he got a taste of the original blues while performing in Nashville, Jackson, and Memphis, USA.
He took his golden voice to Czech Republic and did a 20-show, 20-town, 20-day tour, where he was honoured with sold-out shows and standing ovations, one after the other.
This year also saw him and his girlfriend pack their bakkie, surfboards, skateboards and a tent and travel around South Africa to perform at numerous gigs and festivals, even making it as far as Ponto do Ouro in Mozambique.

Gerald says his first-ever nickname is Afro Boer.
His three favourite dishes include sushi, spaghetti bolognaise and a good steak. Gerald said he would like to settle down in a quiet open space.
“I want to buy a little house with the money I saved where the next nearest neighbour is living miles away and I won’t have to mow the lawn,” he said. When travelling he snacks on broccoli, beans and carrots. Besides his own music, Gerald Clark says he likes Nina Simone. On his list of five things that he will never leave behind when travelling he include his girlfriend the Golden Goose, his guitar, fresh fruit, water and his Nina Simone CD.
The three things that people don’t know about him include the fact that he can never sleep when the mattress fitter’s corners are not in their exact place.
“I like washing my hands immediately after eating and I have to wash my own clothes.” He recently started bird watching as a hobby!
The tickets to the Saturday show are available at the Biltong Shop in Maerua Mall and the Warehouse Theatre for N$130. Tickets at the door are N$160.
