Genene Bougard's career began in 2013, when she served as an assistant accountant at Capricorn Asset Management (Pty) Ltd.

In 2014, she embraced her true calling as a management accountant trainee at Namibian Breweries Limited. From 2017 to 2021, she continued her journey as a management accountant at Namibia Dairies.

Since 2021, she has worked as a cost and management accountant at the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA).

Bougard’s heart lies in the dynamic field of management and accounting, which she sees as a continual learning process.

She describes this journey as one that compels her to think creatively and push beyond her comfort zone. “I learn every day and learn new concepts along the way. It definitely pushes me outside of my comfort zone to think of new reporting methods and to enhance current processes."

Personal cornerstones

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bougard envisions a legacy defined by character. She wants to be remembered not only for her work but also for the mark she has left on people's lives.

Faith is the biggest cornerstone of her life, and she hopes her impact resonates in that regard, guiding others to a higher purpose.

"I most certainly pray that my life will impact those around me in a way that leads them back to the Father.”

After reaching great heights in the corporate world, Bougard looks forward to what lies ahead.

She has a long list of aspirations and ambitions.

While currently pursuing her CIMA articles, she envisions a future where she provides consulting services within the same field she currently thrives in.

The entrepreneurial side of her dreams consists of owning her own brand, which not only contributes to profits being made by other businesses but also creates employment opportunities, with special emphasis on the youth.

Bougard's advice to those who want to enter her field: “When people are determined, they can overcome anything - Nelson Mandela. Determination should be your driving force in life.”

Her advice encompasses focusing on your “why” and embracing the continuous process of personal growth and change.
