Agra Weaner Championship recognises communal farmers
Wilson Tjirare, Godfried Zemburuka and Frenfriedt Karipata were recently announced as the top three national winners in the communal towns category of the 2023 Agra Weaner Championship Series. The trio participated in the final series event for Gobabis, Okakarara, Okondjatu, Aminius and Talismanus, hosted by Agra Auctions.
Tjirare won the feedlot potential category and Zemburuka won the veld potential category, while
Karipata was announced the winner in the heifers with breeding potential category.
In addition to the championship series, the event also organised a training day on livestock management for communal farmers. The training aimed to teach farmers the correct farming methods and the proper use of the resources.
The competition was conducted with the utmost professionalism and rigour by a panel of judges with extensive experience and insight, Agra said. The judges - experts in their fields - were Christo van Zyl, Lourens Swart, Norbert Neumann and Danie de Lange from Feedmaster, and Paul Klein, Herman Lintvelt, Fanie Cronje and Flip du Plessis from Agra.
The event organisers thanked Bank Windhoek for sponsoring the programme for the communal farmers. They celebrated the success of the Agra Weaner Championship Series and said they look forward to more growth, excellence and camaraderie in Namibia’s cattle industry.
