It's exam season! The My Zone team asked learners how they managed stress during the May examinations.

I manage stress during exams by maintaining a focused and steady environment. I also strive to keep Christ at the centre of my studies. I make an effort to limit my expectations for exams and stay realistic about each subject I am writing about. Additionally, I always ensure that I am content and remind myself that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Wida Wilders

To manage stress during exams, I prioritise a balanced routine that includes regular study sessions, breaks, and adequate sleep. Additionally, I do light exercise in between and ensure proper nutrition and hydration to keep my mind and body refreshed. Discussing study topics with friends helps to alleviate anxiety.

I try to keep myself organised so that everything is not all over the place. I try to make sure my files and notes are in order and that I stay up-to-date with my timetable and calendar. I try to take self-care days when I can. Relax and detox from all the stress by drinking tea, reading a book or even going on a walk to clear your mind.

Tinotenda Botshiwe

I really don't have exam stress because usually I feel like I already learn and internalise all my school work, but when I do have stress, I try to calm myself down by listening to my favourite music, going out with my friends and I try to chill.

Rosalie Lägel

When I have stress during exams, I listen to music. Music always calms me down and helps me to concentrate. I light up a candle and try to create a nice study atmosphere so that I can romanticise studying. I also call friends a lot and then we study together and help each other understand the topic.

Jadon Jooste

Stress is a very common symptom of being overworked. What I usually do to mitigate all of it is to simply reflect. Since the root of the problem is essentially just your mind being cluttered, this is optimal. By breaking everything up into pieces and remaining level-headed, you will notice a shift in productivity. Most importantly, stay close to God, and you are all set.
