Tutaleni celebrates independence in style
Tutaleni High School recently celebrated Namibian Independence Day with a spectacular event filled with speeches, performances and cultural showcases.
The event, which was emceed by Leon Liyebelo and Sicilia Nangolo, brought together students to commemorate the country's independence.
The celebration kicked off with the singing of the national anthem, school anthem and African anthem by students from 9B and other classes.
This was followed by a moving speech and performance by Matias Hamwele from 11B, who sang 'Goodness of God' by Cece Winans. Miss Elungu then gave a speech on the importance of celebrating independence every year.

The school choir, led by their talented instructor Mr Ngairo, delivered an outstanding performance before Elise Kambidi from 11B and students from 10B took the stage to share their thoughts on independence.
Mweneni Turitjo shared a motivational quote about overcoming negative thoughts and embracing diversity, reminding everyone that they come from different backgrounds but are united in their celebration of freedom.
Johannes B and Justus Shiwedha from 11C presented their artwork depicting the Namibian flag, with Johannes' flag featuring the face of the late President Dr Hage G. Geingob. A powerful poem by students from 9C, 8F, and 10D encapsulated the spirit of independence and unity.

The cultural performances were a highlight of the event, with the Damara, Aawambo, Nama and Herero groups showcasing their traditional dance styles with their well-choreographed performances.
Ms Shoopala concluded the celebration with a heartfelt vote of thanks, and once again, the national anthem, school anthem, and African anthem were sung by students from 9B and other classes to close the event on a patriotic note.
