The ultimate Clash Royale showdown

Junior Kapofi
Namibia Media Holdings (NMH), in partnership with the Namibia Electronic Sports Association (NESA) and MTC, is set to ignite the gaming world with the Next Gen E-Sports Tournament, scheduled for 7 October.

This thrilling e-sports event promises fierce competition, grand prizes and an opportunity for schools to showcase their gaming experience.

Registration

Registration for the Next Gen E-Sports Tournament is open to all high school gaming lovers. To enroll your school in this exciting event, simply send a message with the keyword 'NextGen' to 085 785 6231 via WhatsApp. It's essential to act quickly, as registration closes at 12:00 on 4 October.

Every aspiring gamer participating in this tournament is required to pay a registration fee of N$50. This fee not only secures your spot in the competition, but also puts you in the running for a grand prize of N$5 000 for your school. The stakes are high, and the competition promises to be intense.

Selecting a team

Participating schools have the unique opportunity to send two to three participants each to represent their institution. In an effort to create an exciting and competitive atmosphere, the event organisers aim to fill a standard 32-slot bracket using a double elimination format. Schools are encouraged to rally their learners' interest and participation in the tournament.

To assemble the most formidable teams, schools should inform their learners about this gaming opportunity and allow them a designated period to 'rank' themselves. After this ranking phase, schools can confidently select the learners with the highest rankings to proudly represent their institution on the virtual battlefield.

1v1 Showdown: Clash Royale Style

The Next Gen E-Sports Tournament will showcase a dynamic 1v1 gaming format. This format ensures each match is a head-to-head clash of skill and strategy, promising an adrenaline-pumping experience for both players and spectators.

Spectators will have the privilege of watching these intense battles through a clan-spectate window. This means players may need to join or leave groups as necessary during the tournament, creating a seamless and immersive viewing experience for fans.

The battle arena

The chosen game title for this epic event is Clash Royale, available on the mobile platform. This selection offers maximum accessibility, as most young individuals already own smartphones. Moreover, Clash Royale can be downloaded for free from app stores, making it accessible to anyone with a competitive spirit and a mobile device.

The Next Gen E-Sports Tournament promises to be a ground-breaking event that unites gaming enthusiasts, schools and e-sports organisations across Namibia. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the e-sports revolution. Register today, assemble your champions, and prepare for the ultimate Clash Royale showdown on 7 October.
