The end of an era
Rest in peace Dr Hage Geingob
Delta Secondary School gathered on 15 February to celebrate the life of His Excellency, the late Dr Hage G. Geingob. The event was held on school grounds and attended by learners, teachers and school board members. Learners were given opportunities to express their grief through speeches, poems and performances and a eulogy was delivered by Mrs Hornikel.
"The late Dr Hage G. Geingob is remembered as a remarkable leader who dedicated his life to serving his nation," said Mikayla Shivangulula, our deputy head girl. She added that the late president will be remembered for his focus on the development of education.
Simon Itenge, a grade 11 student, added: "He was a pillar that held our nation together."
Several prayers were said, and a heartfelt poem written by Lyaloo Hamwele, a Grade 11 student, touched many hearts.
It was a special day to commemorate the late president's legacy, offer condolences to the bereaved former first lady and family, and appreciate the late Dr Hage G. Geingob for his work and dedication during his reign for our beloved nation.
