Pro-Ed Akademie recently introduced the Afrikaans Idiom Challenge during the culture period on Wednesday, immersing learners in the richness of the Afrikaans language and culture. Divided into two groups per grade, learners were handed cards featuring a variety of Afrikaans idioms, tasking them with collaborative decoding within a time limit. This innovative approach emphasised teamwork, fostering unity and effective communication.

The challenge not only tested language proficiency, but also served as a cultural exploration. Learners dove into the meanings and origins of Afrikaans idioms, unlocking new insights into the unique cultural tapestry of the language. The dynamic card-based learning added an interactive element, requiring learners to apply theoretical knowledge. Pro-Ed Akademie's Afrikaans Idiom Challenge successfully celebrated linguistic achievements while encouraging a deeper appreciation for the integration of language and culture among its learners.
