Gobabis Gymnasium hosts innovative night school
Gobabis Gymnasium hosted a night school on Thursday, 16 May.
The primary school teachers aimed to organise a long weekend with the learners by incorporating a full day of school.
The night school focused on practical work and activities based on the learners’ subjects. One activity was a scavenger hunt in mathematics, where learners had to solve math problems, while the economics class played a round of Monopoly.
The night school provided an opportunity for Gobabis Gymnasium to create a long weekend by working through Thursday night so that the learners could take Friday off.
The event offered learners fun opportunities. During breaks, senior learners sold delicious food and played music to keep everyone entertained. No learner felt sleepy in the classes, and the school received positive feedback about the night school.
