Metanga Properties and Realtors: Bridging gaps in Namibian real estate
Offering solutions for buying, selling, leasing, renting
Metanga Properties and Realtors aims to create economic opportunities by leveraging peri-urban agriculture.
In the real estate market of Namibia, Metanga Properties and Realtors has emerged as a significant player, addressing diverse needs from residential to agricultural sectors. Established in 2019, the company has grown remarkably under the leadership of Johanna Loit, who founded the business with a vision inspired by her daughter.
"This is no longer a baby business," said Loit, reflecting on the company's journey. "We started five years ago, and it has been named after my daughter. The name Metanga Ndjambi means 'I'm praying to the Lord.' We provide a comprehensive real estate service to the Namibian market and aspire to extend our services beyond."

Metanga Properties and Realtors operates across various sectors, offering solutions for buying, selling, leasing, and renting properties. The company's mission is to deliver exceptional real estate services by understanding and meeting the unique needs of individual clients. "Our goal is to find the right buyer for the right seller," Loit emphasised.
A significant aspect of Metanga's operations includes a focus on agricultural land. Loit, who grew up outside of Windhoek, explained the motivation behind this initiative.
"We are looking at food security. Nowadays, food is getting expensive, and many people in urban areas, like Kleine Kuppe, can't produce enough to sustain themselves in their small backyards."
Loit’s upbringing played a pivotal role in shaping this vision. "My dad is retired, and after his retirement, we allocated a community garden. Every day, we eat fresh products from this garden. This made me think about those living in urban areas who might not have the same opportunities. It inspired me to focus on agricultural land."
Economic goals
Metanga Properties and Realtors aims to create economic opportunities by leveraging peri-urban agriculture. This approach not only addresses food security but also taps into the economic potential of these areas.
"Windhoek is seeing a lot of people flocking here. We see economic opportunities in peri-urban agriculture, which can benefit both the community and the economy," Loit added.
Johanna Loit's vision for Metanga Properties and Realtors extends beyond traditional real estate services. By integrating agricultural initiatives, the company is addressing critical issues like food security and economic development, making it a vital player in Namibia's real estate sector.
