Liberty Life Namibia celebrates 20 years
Liberty Life Namibia will grow its strengths in the areas of customer experience, striving to be the partner of choice, creating a workplace of choice and permeating a risk-conscious culture into everything it does in the coming years.
This pledge was made by the chief executive officer of Liberty Africa Insurance, Gustav Jenkins, Wednesday night at a gala event celebrating Liberty Life Namibia’s 20th anniversary in the country.
“We will continue to positively impact the lives of our customers and partners in Namibia and all the countries where we operate,” Jenkins said.
He described the focus areas mentioned above as strategic pillars, which will be reinforced by cutting-edge digital solutions. This will empower Liberty Life employees right through Africa, Jenkins said.
Liberty Life Namibia was the Liberty Group’s first business outside of South Africa. It has been at “the forefront of providing exceptional life insurance products, becoming a trusted partner in securing the financial futures of our valued clients”, he said.

Financial support products include Stand Alone – Critical Illness, introduced in December 0214, as well as Personal Accident and Simple Life (March 2015), Platinum Life (November 2015), Hospital Cash (October 2016) and Education Saver (May 2018).
In 2019, the acquisition of Liberty Administrators marked a pivotal moment in Liberty Life Namibia’s journey, reinforcing the company’s dedication to operational excellence and customer satisfaction by ensuring they achieve their retirement goals.
Mind My Money, Liberty Life’s financial literacy programme, was the same year. The programme is offered to corporate customers, allowing them to empower their employees with financial literacy.
In response to the challenges posed by Covid-19, Liberty Life Namibia launched the Mobile Office in November 2020.
“This initiative, born out of necessity, exemplifies our commitment to accessibility, ensuring that our clients can connect with us seamlessly, even in the face of adversity,” said Jenkins.

Liberty Life Namibia launched its retirement annuity product in 2021, followed by the introduction of the Liberty Provident Preservation Fund last February.
The company’s Oshakati office became a reality last December, adding to the presence it established in Walvis Bay in 2018.
Liberty Life Namibia is looking forward to the opening of a walk-in office in Maerua Mall next month, further enhancing its accessibility and service delivery.
