Hollard Namibia renews commitment to Amos Meerkat education initiative with N$750 000
The Hollard Namibia Group announced a renewed three-year sponsorship of N$750 000 to the Amos Meerkat School Project, reaffirming its dedication to preparing farm and informal settlement children for primary education through a specialised curriculum.
This substantial commitment, commencing in the 2025 financial year, marks over a decade of continuous support from Hollard to this vital educational initiative totalling over N$3 million.
The Amos Meerkat School Project has been instrumental in bridging the educational gap for children in rural farming communities and informal settlements, providing them with essential skills and knowledge to succeed in primary school and beyond.
Sam Kauapirura, head of compliance and public relations for Hollard, said: "Our longstanding partnership with the Amos Meerkat School Project reflects Hollard's unwavering commitment to nurturing the potential of every Namibian child, regardless of their circumstances. This renewed financial support is a testament to the project's remarkable achievements and its crucial role in shaping the future of our nation's youth".
"Early childhood development (ECD) plays a pivotal role in preparing children for a successful school career and life beyond. In the African context, quality ECD is particularly crucial as it helps break the cycle of poverty, addresses developmental delays, and reduces inequality," he added.
The Amos Meerkat School Project is especially valuable for children who would otherwise have no access to ECD due to their remote locations on farms or in informal settlements across Namibia.
"Hollard's involvement in this project aligns with our business philosophy of securing better futures for all Namibians," Kauapirura added. "By investing in early childhood education, we're not just preparing children for school; we're laying the foundation for their lifelong success and contributing to the overall development of our nation."
"The N$750 000 sponsorship, to be disbursed over three years, will enable the Amos Meerkat School Project to expand its reach to more farming communities and informal settlements across Namibia, enhance the specialised curriculum to meet evolving educational needs and provide additional resources and training for educators. We are immensely proud of the impact the Amos Meerkat School Project has had on countless young lives over the past decade," Kauapirura said.
"Our commitment to the Namibian child underscores Hollard's belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities. We look forward to witnessing the continued success and growth of this initiative in the years to come."
