In an exclusive interview with Cozy Casa Houseware Hub's project manager, Ali Hallal, the excitement surrounding the recently opened establishment in Windhoek was clear.

Cozy Casa, a venture that began in September with the goal of being ready for the festive season, officially opened its doors on 17 November at Mutual Platz in the capital.

Hallal shared insights into the background of the business, highlighting its parent company's extensive experience in the import and export of furniture, home consumer goods and kitchen appliances. Despite being a new player in the Namibian market, Cozy Casa brings a wealth of expertise to the table.

"We decided to open in Windhoek because we see potential in the market, and we've identified specific needs that we aim to fulfil," Hallal said. He emphasised the uniqueness of the products showcased in their showroom, and assured customers that they won't find them elsewhere - even if similar models or designs are available in other furniture stores.

Expressing confidence in the venture, Hallal remarked: "We believe in this market, so we are hoping things go well for us in terms of business now that we have officially kicked off operations".

Potential to expand

During the interview, Namibia Media Holdings inquired about Cozy Casa's expansion plans, considering it is the company's first and only store in Namibia. Hallal revealed that they plan to evaluate the Windhoek location's performance over the next six months before deciding on expansion.

"Hopefully everything goes well, and there will be potential to expand," he added optimistically.

When asked about the diverse range of products offered by Cozy Casa, he said: "We don’t only do furniture; we cater to everything from furniture to kitchen and home appliances, glassware, plasticware, decorations, and even outdoor furniture. Literally, anything for your home, including catering equipment".

The discussion shifted to the marketing strategies employed by Cozy Casa to establish its presence in the market. Hallal revealed that the company is currently utilising newspaper advertisements, with plans to continue this approach in the coming months. Additionally, Cozy Casa has inked a contract with a radio station and actively engages with potential customers through its social media platforms (@cozycasahousewarehub).

On the origin of the products, the project manager stressed the uniqueness of Cozy Casa's supply chain.

"Our goods are imported from Turkey, Brazil and Malaysia for solid wood tables. We believe the market is saturated with goods from South Africa, and despite its quality, it's quite outdated. We find unique suppliers to ensure we offer distinct products in an oversaturated market."

Hallal further invited everyone to explore Cozy Casa's extensive selection, boasting over 4 500 items on the showroom floor.
