Bridal couples strut their stuff

After months of preparation, Republikein’s annual Bridal Couple of the Year competition reached its final on Saturday during the Namibia Tourism Expo, which took place at Sports Klub Windhoek (SKW) in the capital over the weekend.

Sylvia and Eddy Likandu from Katima Mulilo went home with the title, along with their share of around N$200 000 worth of prizes. The runners-up were Janetta and Markus du Plessis from Grootfontein, while Pomwene and Landuleni Kaleb from Windhoek took the third spot.

This year, the couples were challenged to paint a door that, through the African Child Development Trust, will go to kindergartens with no doors.

Thank you to our judges - senior reporter and photographer Tanja Bause, former Miss Namibia and media personality Odile Gertze, entertainment reporter Michael Kayunde and former winners Joel and Rebecca Eelu - as well as all our various sponsors for making a success of this event, which is a hit amongst readers of Namibia Media Holdings publications.
