With renewed investor interest in gas contracts and exploitation of solar, wind and hydrogen, the "hot topic" of energy transition appears to have touched down in Africa. Sebastian Sterl, assistant professor in energy meteorology at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, unpacks the issue.
