NCS delegation pays visit to Zimbabwean counterparts
Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) Commissioner-General Raphael Hamunyela paid a visit recently to his counterparts in Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS).
Hamunyela was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner-General Mariana Martin, Commissioner Michael Mulisa, Assistant Commissioner Dorothea Hamutenya, and Senior Superintendent Lucas Amutenya.
The visit focused on cooperation in rehabilitation, food production, training, security and the improvement of correctional systems.
During the visit, the delegation laid a wreath for the late Commissioner-General of ZPCS, Paradzai Willings Zimondi. Zimondi passed away in January 2021 and was regarded as a hero of Zimbabwe's independence struggle. He later achieved the rank of Major General in the Zimbabwean army and, after retiring from the military, served as the Commissioner-General of the ZPCS for 22 years.
