#JustIn Ithindi appointed ED at mines

Seasoned government technocrat Penda Iithindi (pictured) has been appointed as the new Executive Director at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Secretary to Cabinet, Dr. George Simataa announced. Iithindi's appointed becomes effective on 1 December 2023. He takes over from Bank of Namibia executive Bryan Eiseb, who was seconded from the central bank following the retirement of the ministry's ED at the time, Simeon Negumbo. Iithindi is set to relinquish his position at the Ministry of Agriculture where he is currently the deputy ED for planning, marketing and administration. Prior to that, Iithindi served as technical advisor to the Minister of Finance. Iithindi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics, and a Master of Science in Financial Economics.
