Tennis junior tournament under way
• The best are in town
Tennis enthusiast in Namibia are up for a great treat this week with some of the world's junior tennis stars gracing the country with their presence in Windhoek for an international tournament.

WindhoekThe Namibia Tennis Association, after having an exciting International Tennis Federation (ITF) J5 Junior Tennis tournament in Windhoek over the weekend, kicked off their ITF J4 junior tournament at the Central Tennis Courts in Olympia on Monday.
The international tournament brings the best players from all over the world to compete for points, tournament director Ndumiso Moyo said.
“We have more than 11 countries here competing. The points are very important as they help elevate the players into the world tour. This builds them from ITF to the ATP tour, where the likes of Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams compete.”
Benedict Badza of Zimbabwe, who lost in the finals of the J5 tournament against Evan Jarzaguet in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, is ready for the challenge.
“I’m way more prepared for this. I want to win the tournament with six hours of practice every day I am hoping for the best.”
Competition looks to be very tight as players brought their A-game. On the first day we saw Mark Nawa from Botswana go up against Dian Calitz from Namibia and win convincingly in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Calum Jetsin from South Africa put in a world-class performance by beating Joel Hiveluah without a response in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
With the tournament set to end on Saturday, there is a lot of tennis action to look forward to as the best take on the best.
