Still no City election date
News in short
In a letter to urban and rural development minister Erastus Uutoni, Windhoek city council chairperson Sade Gawanas explained council is yet to determine when it will officially sit to elect a new mayor, chairperson of the management committee, and management committee members after an election process could not take place last Thursday,
Members of the Swapo Party and Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) staged a walk-out, and elections could not take place due to the lack of a quorum.
"This situation creates a hiatus for Council. Being fully cognisant of this, we have since engaged all council members and will determine a date for the election to take place as soon as possible," Gawanas wrote. – OGONE TLHAGE
