• Triple PSL awards for goal poacher
Teammates and former coaches of Namibian and Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile believe he can play anywhere in the world following another platinum season of silverware in South Africa.
Jesse Jackson KauraisaWindhoekMany Namibians have described fellow countryman Peter Shalulile as the greatest of all time following another successful season in the South African Premiership.
The Namibian was on Sunday voted as the Premiership player of the season and as well as the player’s player of the season.
“He is really the ultimate South African GOAT given what he has achieved in South Africa. The truth is that Peter was destined for something great due to the level of commitment he has always shown as a player.
“I will not be surprised if he goes on to win more awards in that country,” Golden Arrows veteran Maximilian Mbaeva said. For the second year running, Shalulile won both the 2021/22 PSL Footballer of the Season and DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season awards.
Shalulile also won the PSL Golden Goot award after scoring 30 goals for Mamelodi Sundowns in all competitions, with 23 of the goals coming in the premier league.
“He has proven again that he is a quality player and one of the best on the continent. Peter is a committed player who always gives his best in a match and that is why many players love playing alongside him.
“He has always give his best and seeing him prosper in South Africa is something very pleasing to see,” former Brave Warriors coach Riccardo Mannetti said.
Brave Warriors midfielder who plays in Armenia Wangu Gome described Shalulile as a humble son of the soil.
Gome is confident that Shalulile will fit into any team in the world and can play in any league across Europe.
“He is talented to the point that he will be able to fit in any league around the world. “As a teammate at national level, I am happy for what he has managed to achieve in such a short period of time at Mamelodi Sundowns,” Gome remarked.
