Namibia Tourism Expo to address sector’s challenges

Themed 'Beyond Borders', the Namibia Tourism Expo will take place from Wednesday, 24 April, to Friday, 26 April, at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.
The long wait is almost over! This year's Namibia Tourism Expo will kick off this Wednesday at 16:00, immediately after the official opening by tourism minister Pohamba Shifeta. This official portion is, however, only open to invited guests and exhibitors.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the expo will be open to the public from 16:00 to 22:00, while the gates will open at 14:00 on Friday. Interesting seminars and workshops will be held on Thursday and Friday morning.
In keeping with this year’s focus on the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA), Thursday will kick off with 'Understanding KAZA: Cross-Border Cultural Experience – what we do different'. Thereafter, the focus shifts to cross-border cultural experiences and the Africa-China cultural exchange. After lunch, a session will focus on the benefits of cultural experiences.
Friday will highlight issues that are likely to impact the local tourism sector. The first session is dedicated to 'Integration of Guest Services in Accommodation Establishments for SMEs', which will be followed by a session exploring a 'Secure Environmental Data Acquisition Portal'. The final talk will be about the impact of the new oil discoveries and green hydrogen projects in Namibia.
