MONDESA ELDERS HONOURED
MONDESA ELDERS HONOURED: Seventy senior Mondesa residents were treated to a Christmas lunch and gift-giving event last Saturday. The occasion, organised by the Children of Mondesa group, was held to express gratitude for the elders' contributions to their community. Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal and received thoughtful Christmas gifts. A raffle awarded five special prizes, including an overnight stay at a local hotel for a couple and a scenic boat cruise for two couples.
One of the event organisers, Lucky //Gaseb, said the day aimed to bring joy and to highlight the importance of community and intergenerational appreciation.
Swakopmund mayor Blasius Goraseb praised the initiative and said: “Our elders are the pillars of our community, and this event is a beautiful way to recognise their contributions. It is heartwarming to see such efforts to connect generations and ensure our seniors feel appreciated.”
